Cambo School workshops

In April 2015, we embarked upon an audience consultation for the National Trust to find out what visitors, volunteers and staff thought Wallington, a Mansion House, estate and gardens in Northumberland, should do with a newly acquired suite of rooms in the West Wing of the house.

As part of the consultation, we engaged with Cambo First School who have a strong track record of engaging with Wallington, thus staff and pupils were invited to get involved in the West Wing consultation process.

On 16 and 22 June 2015, more than thirty pupils aged 5-9 worked with the West Wing team to explore some of the themes and ideas under consideration as part of the West Wing’s development. This involved them learning about the Trevelyan children and their favourite activities when they were young. Armed with knowledge from their explorations, each pupil created a short digital story about one of their favourite subjects using our Memory Box Stories app for combining audio with photographs. These were subsequently shared with the school and remain as a record of their input into the West Wing’s development.
